Reports

Statements, KPIs, and board packs - read from the same close, frozen per period, exported on demand.

WorkTiles holds the structure of your reporting - the statement chart that maps accounts to lines, the report library that re-runs each period, the custom KPIs, the board templates, and the period comparisons. Reports read the same trial balance the close produced. Nothing is re-keyed. A published report is frozen until you regenerate it.

A P&L read straight from the close - current period beside prior and budget, variances calculated, nothing re-keyed.

How this flow runs in WorkTiles

  1. 01

Statements read from the same trial balance

Profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow read the exact trial balance the monthly close produced - not a re-keyed copy. The cash flow is derived indirectly from the balance sheet and P&L movements. A status ribbon shows whether the period is reconciled and the close is certified.

  2. 02

Map accounts to statement lines, once

A statement chart maps each account to the line it belongs on - revenue, cost of goods, opex, the right asset and liability rows. Set it up once from the BAS standard, with prefix rules to catch new accounts. Every report reads from that one chart, so the income statement, balance sheet, and board pack all agree.

  3. 03

Add custom KPIs and computed lines

Define the metrics your business runs on - gross margin, DSO, current ratio, EBITDA - as formulas over accounts, statement lines, and constants. Computed lines and subtotals build up the statements; custom KPIs can reference each other. Set the formula once and it recalculates every period.

  4. 04

    Compose board packs from blocks

Build management and board reports from blocks - KPI cards, full statement tables, note schedules, charts, and narrative that pulls live figures into the text. Each block binds to a statement line or metric, so the pack stays tied to the numbers. Themes carry your colors, fonts, and logo.

  5. 05

    Compare periods and budget

Lay out columns the way you read the numbers - this month beside last, this year beside last year, actual beside budget - with variance and percentage columns calculated for you. Budget and forecast project through the same statement chart, so the comparison lines up on every row.

  6. 06

    Snapshot, freeze, and export

A report definition lives in a library and re-runs each period. When you snapshot it, the figures freeze - later chart edits never silently change a published report. Regenerate deliberately to pull the latest close data, with the activity logged. Export to PDF or Excel, down to the per-account detail behind each line.

What's different about running it here

Read from the close, not re-keyed

Reports read the same trial balance the close produced. There's no export to a separate model, no copy-paste, no version drift between what you closed and what you report.

One chart, every report agrees

Map accounts to statement lines once. The P&L, the balance sheet, the cash flow, and the board pack all read from the same statement chart - so they reconcile to each other by construction.

Frozen snapshots you can defend

A published report is frozen at snapshot. A later chart edit never silently changes a number you already reported. You regenerate deliberately, and the activity is logged.

KPIs and board packs in the same tool

Custom KPIs, computed lines, and block-based board templates live where the statements live. No separate BI tool, no slide deck rebuilt by hand each quarter.

Run finance with less friction.
And more control.
